Detail
If you are a freelance technician or are running a supporting business in the information technology industry, this template makes it easy for you to create professional service invoices.
This template is based on Service Invoice Template: Using Line Number Instead of Item# (c5037). In this new design, we keep the original design of the "Product ID" column; that is, the values in this column are filled with line numbers automatically when you fill in item descriptions. If you don't like this, simply remove all the formulas from this column.
The default tax names on this template are set to "Federal Tax" and "State Tax". To change the tax names and rates, click "Settings" and then go to the "Taxes" tab. The calculation of taxes takes account of the "Taxable" property of each invoiced item. Each "Taxable" box links to a hidden cell. The taxable total amount is calculated using a formula like this:
{ =SUM(oknTaxable_1:oknTaxable_12*oknLineTotal_1:oknLineTotal_12)}
This formula calculates the sum of all line totals that have the "Taxable" box checked. The braces surrounding the formula mean this is an array formula. For more information on how it works and how to create it, visit Guidelines and Examples of Array Formulas.
